Remember this?
Well, after Artists and Fleas, I put my teacup sculptures in a box and stuffed them in the guest room closet. I just wanted to block that exhausting day from my memory for a while. As in, forever.
Unbeknownst to me, my teacup sculpture has been receiving lots of love! You Want Me to Buy That?, Sincerely Yours, and most recently, Dollar Store Crafts have posted about it. It even made its way to Pinterest. You guys are making me blush.
While I have always loved crafts and have been known to dabble in DIY, I never thought anyone would be interested in stuff I made. As we press on in our Renovating a Rental series, hopefully I can share more useful and original information on that front too.
After a few unexpected delays, PrelovedNYC is finally making its debut at Artists and Fleas in Williamsburg this Saturday!
Artists and Fleas is located on 70 North 7th Street and is open from 10 am to 7 pm.
Take the L train to Bedford Avenue Station and walk 5 minutes toward Kent Avenue.
We are stoked!
Until then, I will be busy creating more teacup sculptures and sorting our massive inventory of 70s vintage blouses, leather pants, midi skirts, sequin tops, structured leather handbags, and other dreamy things.
See you this weekend
Remember when I hinted about collaborating with a secret someone on a secret project? Well, I can’t divulge all the details yet, but I am so excited to give you a sneak peek!
But before we get to that, allow me to build the suspense.
I recently fell in love with thrifting and the idea of sustainable fashion. The one gripe I’ve had about thrifting is that it tends to be overpriced, like when I found a Forever 21 skirt at Beacon’s Closet for $10! After a particularly frustrating thrifting adventure that involved a $17 moldy sweater at the Salvation Army, Helene and I were fed up. Anyway, necessity is the mother of invention and PrelovedNYC was born! You guys, I am so proud of us. We’ve invested lots of blood, sweat, and tears (okay, mental anguish) into this project. Over the past month, Helene and I have curated a winter collection of beautiful and unique vintage clothing, shoes, and accessories. It is our mission to promote a financially- and ecologically-conscious lifestyle.
Today, Helene chose some key pieces while I played photographer with ST’s new Canon Rebel T3i and we had a mini photo shoot in my back yard. Side note: Read all about our fun process here.
