Hello, Summer!

What a glorious weekend. On Saturday afternoon, ST and I crawled out of hibernation, dusted off our bikes, and went for a couple loops through Prospect Park. We also visited the greenmarket at Grand Army Plaza.

The greenmarket was okay. It was mostly flowers, herbs, and bread. I saw one vendor selling free-range dairy products and nibbled a free sample of duck though.

Then, we spent the rest of the night with food, drinks, friends, and this view of Prospect Park:

On Sunday morning, ST and I met up with Martin and Christy, friends from Texas. We went to church and then walked to nearby Washington Square Park to visit the World Science Festival.

We love it when friends visit us. ;-)

The World Science Festival was for kids. They had face painting and a few science demonstrations. If you have wee ones, this would be a delightful afternoon. If you’re an adult nerd like me, I’d suggest you pass. There was literally nothing for adults, except some boring informational booths.

One thing I got out of it was that the Maker Faire is coming to NYC on September 29 and 30! Penga got me so excited with her post about it. I can’t wait to go!

Then, it was time for lunch. We chanced upon this random Thai restaurant called Boyd Thai. The service was excellent, the food was good, and a $9 lunch special can’t be beat. After we parted ways with Martin and Christy, we made a pit stop in Tribeca for another Craigslist gem. More on that later. We ended our evening on the couch watching Mad Men. I can’t think of a more perfect way to spend 48 hours.

I love summer.

What did you do this weekend?
